Riboflavin
is helpful for red blood cell formation, production of antibodies,
cell respiration, and normal growth. Riboflavin, like other B-Vitamins
is directly associated with metabolism of carbohydrates, fats, and
proteins.
In one open clinical study, high-dose riboflavin showed significant
effectiveness as a migraine treatment. In a subsequent randomized
trial, 400 mg of riboflavin and placebo were tested for three months
in 55 migraine patients. In the riboflavin group, 59% improved by at
least 50%, compared with 15% of the placebo group showing at least 50%
improvement.
